Dubai’s Police Chief Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim speaks in a conference

Dubai’s police chief, who had played a key role in uncovering details of the assassination of a senior Hamas leader, says he has received two death threats from Israel’s spy agency, Mossad.

Gen. Dahi Khalfan Tamim said he had received an email, traced back to the agency, which read, “Protect your back if you are going to keep your tongue loose,” Reuters reported.

Khalfan has said that evidence pointed to Mossad’s involvement in the January 19 killing in a Dubai hotel of Mahmoud al-Mabhouh, the senior Hamas leader.

The compromising material, he had said, included credit card payments and phone calls made by the suspects.

Earlier in the year, British newspaper The Sunday Times reported that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “gave his authorization” for the terror hit.

Khalfan also referred to a cautionary phone call “from a retired Mossad agent with Western-Israeli nationality” to one of his relatives, Emirates247 news website reported, citing his comments in the Emirati paper.

“He asked my relative to advise me to keep silent,” the police chief said.
